Here you can find the list of pilgrimage destinations of Armenia and Karabakh. You also can search for a particular sight by criteria (name, region, diocese, type, and age).

The list is not complete and we continuously work on it. Currently you can get some details about 40 sacred destinations.

The monastery was founded by St. Grigor Lusavorich (Gregory the Illuminator), who brought the relics of St. John the Baptist and buried them there. That is why the monastery is called Hovhannavank (Monastery of John).
