Project for Training and Preparation of Christian Pilgrimage Tour Guides

Training on Tour Guiding Essentials
...

Lectures on Tourist Destinations of Armenia
Within the framework of its Project for Training ...

We consider our guides the key to our success. Our general analysis indicates the need of training for existing guides and preparation of future ones. We require that our guides have the following qualities:

• Spiritual background,
• Related knowledge,
• Guiding skills,
• Communication and organization skills.

The successful combination of the four is met rarely and therefore we have launched our Project for Training and Preparation of Christian Pilgrimage Tour Guides dedicated to the enhancement of guiding skills and pilgrimage-related knowledge of those faithful people who are emotionally linked to the Church and see their career in guiding. As a result we will have a team of guides who will serve our pilgrims.

The first step of the project took place on November 26-29, 2007 by realization of the training on Tour Guiding Essentials with the assistance from Canadian Executive Service Organization.

Further trainings will cover the following topics:
• Armenia’s tourist destinations,
• Peculiarities of pilgrimage tours,
• Traditions and customs of Christian churches,

All those interested in participating in our trainings are welcome to send their resumes together with a cover letter to hr@psalmtours.com.
